In this wellness session, we’ll explore the principles of zero waste living and learn practical tips and resources for reducing waste in our daily lives.
We’ll discuss the environmental impact of waste and how it affects our communities and the planet. We’ll also share ideas and strategies for reducing waste in various areas of our lives, including food, clothing, and household products.
Waste Audit: We’ll start by discussing the importance of conducting a waste audit and how to do it effectively. We’ll provide a worksheet or checklist for employees to assess their current waste habits and identify areas for improvement. This can help employees understand their personal impact on the environment and set goals for reducing waste in their daily lives.
The 5 R’s of Zero Waste: We’ll introduce the five principles of zero waste living – Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Rot – and provide examples of how to apply them in various areas of our lives. We’ll encourage employees to share their own ideas and experiences with zero-waste living, and provide resources for further learning and exploration.
DIY Zero Waste Products: We’ll provide instructions and materials for making simple zero-waste products, such as reusable produce bags, beeswax wraps, and cloth napkins. This can help employees reduce their reliance on single-use products and save money in the long run.
Sustainable Shopping: We’ll provide tips and resources for sustainable shopping, such as buying secondhand, choosing products with minimal packaging, and supporting ethical and sustainable brands. We’ll also discuss the importance of supporting businesses that prioritize sustainability and social responsibility.
By the end of this session, employees will have a deeper understanding of the principles of zero waste living and how to apply them in their daily lives. They will have conducted a waste audit and identified areas for improvement, and they will have learned practical tips and strategies for reducing waste in various areas of their lives.
