In this wellness session, we’ll explore the benefits of low waste meal planning and learn practical tips and resources for reducing food waste and packaging waste in our daily lives.

We’ll discuss the environmental impact of food waste and how it affects our communities and the planet.

We’ll also share ideas and recipes for low waste meals that are healthy, delicious, and easy to prepare.

  • Mindful Meal Planning: We’ll start by discussing the importance of mindful meal planning and how it can help reduce food waste and save time and money. We’ll provide a worksheet or template that employees can use to plan their meals for the week, considering ingredients they already have on hand, seasonal produce, and other factors that can influence their food choices.
  • Low-Waste Shopping Tips: We’ll provide tips and resources for low-waste shopping, such as buying in bulk, bringing reusable bags and containers, and choosing products with minimal packaging. We’ll also share ideas for reducing food waste at the grocery store, such as buying imperfect produce and avoiding over-packaged products.
  • Recipe Exchange: We’ll encourage employees to share their favorite low-waste recipes and meal ideas, such as zero-waste smoothie bowls, veggie stir-fry with bulk rice, and homemade granola bars. We’ll provide a platform for employees to share their recipes and discuss how they incorporate low-waste principles into their cooking and eating habits.
  • Meal Prep Demonstration: We’ll demonstrate how to prep meals in a low-waste manner, such as by using reusable containers and minimizing food scraps. We’ll provide a recipe and demonstrate how to prep it in a low-waste way, while also discussing tips and tricks for meal prepping efficiently.

By the end of this session, participants will have learned practical tips and resources for reducing food waste and packaging waste in their daily lives.

Most importantly, they will have gained a deeper understanding of the impact of their food choices on the environment and be motivated to make small changes towards a more sustainable lifestyle.
