Introduction
Self-directed learning is an important skill for personal and professional development. In this skills training presentation, we will explore the concept of self-directed learning and how to take ownership of one’s own development.
We will cover strategies for setting learning goals, identifying learning needs, and creating a learning plan. We will also discuss how these strategies can be leveraged within work settings.

- Participants will have the opportunity to work in groups and individually to reflect on their own approach to self-directed learning and brainstorm strategies for setting learning goals, identifying learning needs, and creating a learning plan.
- The session will also include case studies and examples of how self-directed learning can be leveraged within work settings.

- The SMART goal setting framework will be introduced as a tool for setting clear and achievable learning goals.

- Participants will complete a reflection exercise on their own approach to self-directed learning.
- Participants will work in small groups to brainstorm strategies for setting learning goals, identifying learning needs, and creating a learning plan.
By the end of this session, participants will have a deeper understanding of the concept of self-directed learning and how to take ownership of their own development.
Participants will have the tools and strategies necessary to set learning goals, identify learning needs, and create a learning plan, and use them to their advantage in both personal and professional settings.
They will also have the skills to take an active role in their own learning journey, continuously seeking out opportunities for growth and development.
