Self-directed learning is an important skill for personal and professional development. In this skills training presentation, we will explore the concept of self-directed learning and how to take ownership of one’s own development.

We will cover strategies for setting learning goals, identifying learning needs, and creating a learning plan. We will also discuss how these strategies can be leveraged within work settings.

  • To provide an overview of self-directed learning and the importance of taking ownership of one’s own development

  • This session will be delivered through a combination of lectures, group discussions, and practical exercises.
  • Participants will have the opportunity to work in groups and individually to reflect on their own approach to self-directed learning and brainstorm strategies for setting learning goals, identifying learning needs, and creating a learning plan.
  • The session will also include case studies and examples of how self-directed learning can be leveraged within work settings.

  • Participants will complete a reflection exercise on their own approach to self-directed learning.
