Introduction
Welcome to this skills training workshop on overcoming challenges in the onboarding process. Onboarding is an important part of any organization’s talent management strategy and plays a crucial role in setting new hires up for success in their roles. However, the onboarding process can sometimes be fraught with challenges, such as difficulty building connections with coworkers, difficulties adapting to new systems and processes, and difficulties navigating the organization’s culture. In this workshop, we will explore ways to overcome these challenges and ensure a smooth and successful onboarding process for new hires. By the end of this session, you will have a better understanding of how to identify and address common challenges in the onboarding process and support new hires as they integrate into your organization.

This training will be conducted through a combination of lectures, discussions, and practical exercises. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in group activities and apply the concepts learned in this session to real-world scenarios.
This training will include both theoretical and practical elements. Participants will learn about common challenges in the onboarding process and the various frameworks and tools that can be used to identify and address these challenges. They will also have the opportunity to apply these concepts through practical exercises, working in groups to design and evaluate onboarding programs using the frameworks introduced in this session.

- The Change Curve: The Change Curve is a framework that outlines the stages of change and the common challenges and emotions that individuals may experience during the change process. It can be used to understand and support new hires as they navigate the challenges of the onboarding process.
- The Gagne’s Nine Events of Instruction: This framework outlines the nine steps involved in effective instruction and can be used to design and evaluate onboarding programs that effectively support new hires in their learning and development.
