Introduction
Knowing how to provide first aid and emergency response in the workplace is essential for ensuring the well-being of employees and the smooth operation of a business.
In this Health & Safety Training Program/Workshop, participants will learn about best practices for providing first aid and emergency response in the workplace, including through the use of first aid kits and automated external defibrillators (AEDs).
The aim of this session is to equip employees and managers with the knowledge and skills needed to provide first aid and emergency response in the event of an accident or medical emergency in the workplace.

- The session will also introduce participants to frameworks and tools that can be used to develop and implement policies and procedures for first aid and emergency response in the workplace, such as first aid and emergency response plans.
- The knowledge and skills gained in this session can be leveraged in a variety of work settings to provide first aid and emergency response in the event of an accident or medical emergency.
- Participants will be able to understand their legal obligations related to first aid and emergency response and will be able to develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with those obligations.

- Participants will work in small groups to develop a first aid and emergency response plan for a simulated workplace setting.
- They will be given a list of potential first aid and emergency situations and will be asked to identify the key steps for responding to those situations and develop a plan for communicating those steps to employees.
- The group will then present their first aid and emergency response plan to the rest of the class for feedback and discussion.
At the end of this session, participants will have gained a thorough understanding of the importance of providing first aid and emergency response in the workplace and will have the knowledge and skills needed to provide first aid and emergency response in the event of an accident or medical emergency.
They will also be aware of the legal requirements related to first aid and emergency response in the workplace and will be able to develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with those requirements.
