Analogies are a powerful tool for generating new ideas and understanding complex concepts. By comparing and finding similarities between different objects or concepts, we can more easily grasp abstract ideas and come up with creative solutions to problems.

In this skills training program, employees and managers will learn how to use analogies to improve their problem-solving and creative thinking skills.

  • The aim of this skills training program is to teach attendees how to use analogies to generate new ideas and better understand complex concepts.
  • The objectives of this skills training program are to:
    • Define analogies and explain their role in creative thinking and problem-solving
    • Provide examples of how analogies can be used in a work setting
    • Lead attendees through practical exercises to practice using analogies
    • Discuss common challenges when using analogies and strategies to overcome them

This skills training program will be delivered through a combination of lectures, group discussions, and practical exercises. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with
the material through interactive activities and will have the chance to practice using analogies through hands-on exercises.

(included in Half-Day and Full Day sessions)

  • The SCAMPER technique: a brainstorming tool that helps to generate new ideas by making changes to existing products or processes
  • The TRIZ method: a problem-solving approach that involves analyzing the root cause of a problem and finding creative solutions through the use of analogies

Attendees will learn how to use analogies to generate new ideas and better understand complex concepts in their work settings. They will also learn how to overcome common challenges and effectively apply these techniques to real-world situations.

included in 90-min, Half Day & Full Day sessions

Attendees will have the opportunity to practice using analogies through a variety of exercises, including:

  • Brainstorming sessions: attendees will work in groups to come up with as many ideas as possible for a given problem or challenge, using analogies as a tool for generating new ideas
  • Role-playing: attendees will take on different roles and consider how they would approach a problem or challenge using analogies
  • Case studies: attendees will work in groups to apply the skills learned in this training program to real-world scenarios

At the end of this skills training program, attendees will have a thorough understanding of how to use analogies to generate new ideas and better understand complex concepts.

They will have had the opportunity to practice using analogies through interactive exercises, enabling them to confidently apply these techniques in their day-to-day work.

Attendees will also have learned how to overcome common challenges when using analogies, enabling them to more effectively generate fresh ideas and approaches to problems.
